If you had super-powers, what would they be:
Powers? I don't need no stinkin' powers!
First Comic Book:
Elfquest #17 (WaRP Graphics)
Back in 1983/1984 I
was just starting to get into drawing. At this point I was
about 9 to 10 years old. My cousin and I loved drawing.
We'd draw anything we could find or that would stand still. He
eventually got so good he didn't need any references, but I never
got to that level. I needed to "see" something in order to
draw it. When I went into my first comic book shop and saw
this cover I knew I had to pick it up. I flipped through
the book and loved it and became an Elfquest fan for life.
While I don't have any of the books anymore (too many collection
purges) I still remember all of the stories and characters.
Maybe one of these days I'll go back and collect them all again!
Favorite Comic Book/Storyline:
"the Judas Contract" - New Teen Titans #39-40 and Tales of
the New Teen Titans #41-44.
If there's one storyline
that hit me harder than any other it was "the Judas Contract" in the
pages of Tales of the Teen Titans and New Teen Titans.
I had been a fan of the Teen Titans for only a few short months
before this storyline hit and while I had been enjoying these
characters nothing had been quiet this good to me. With the
upcoming DVD release of this storyline in the next year or so I'm
really excite to see it all becoming "live" in front of me.
I'm definitely brushing off the dust from these issues and reading
them again in preparation!

If you had
super-powers, what would they be: Telekinesis
First Comic Book:
Detective Comics #507, but I didn’t really start reading comics
until I picked up Star Wars #92.
Favorite Comic
Book/Storyline: Uncanny X-Men. I’ve been reading Uncanny X-Men
without interruption ever since issue #205, though it should be
historically noted that my first mutant book was X-Factor (Vol. 1)
#3.

If you had
super-powers, what would they be:
I’ve always thought it would be soooooo cool to have Telekinesis – and I
know that if I had superpowers, they’d go to my head and I’d
probably become a supervillain!
First Comic Book:
I started reading comics quite late compared to my colleagues on Comic
Addiction, as I didn’t start reading and collecting comics full time
until about 2003, while studying at University. However, it was a
holiday to the US in the early 90s when I first got bitten by the
superhero bug when I caught the pilot episode of The X-Men Animated
Series. It was like crack! I had to learn more about these X-Men and
from that date I’ve continued to watch the TV series, played the
video games and enjoyed the X-Men movies.
Soon after I remember
being introduced to actual X-Men comic books as I discovered that
one of my classmates friends also was an X-Men fan and it was then
that I actually read my first comic book, Adjectiveless X-Men #30
(the wedding of Scott Summers and Jean Grey).
Favorite Comic
Book/Storyline:
The Dark Phoenix Saga, being a huge X-Men fan, holds a special place
for me as a brilliant comic book storyline, however, I have to admit
that later X-Men stories for me are somewhat better, including the
X-Men, X-Factor and New Mutant issues that form The Mutant Massacre,
Inferno and also Fall of the Mutants.
I’m a huge Superman fan
(I have the tattoo to prove it!) One of my favourite Superman
stories was A Superman for All Seasons – while I didn’t love the
art, I found the story and the writing element of the four seasons
extremely impressive. I also loved the Death of Superman, A World
Without Superman and to a lesser extent, The Return of Superman part
of the event that was Superman’s death.

If you had super-powers, what would they be:
Telepathy, so I can mess with your head!
First Comic Book:
X-Men #201...Cyclops vs. Storm, who will lead the X-Men?
Favorite Comic Book/Storyline:
This is tough but I guess I would have to say my favorite storyline
was X-Men related. I really liked the Mutant Massacre & Fall of the
Mutants due to the events that transpired in both of those stories.

If you had super-powers, what would they be: Hmm.. the power to manipulate Karma.
First Comic Book: Wonder Woman: Gods of Gotham which collected Wonder Woman #164-#167 by Phil Jimenez. It didn’t look like a trade but like a really thick comic book. This was the book that started my love affair with comics and Wonder Woman is the only title that I have collected to this day. I’ve stuck with it through think and thin.
Favorite Comic
Book/Storyline: There have been quite a few but I still can’t
get over the recent Check Mate storyline “La Vie En Sang”
the Writing Staff...

If you had super-powers, what would they be: Telepathy, knowing the future
First Comic Book: Shogun Warriors #3 A grade school buddy of mine had
gotten some 3 inch metal figures of the Shogun Warriors and when he
told me that they had a comic book too I had to get one.
Favorite Comic
Book/Storyline: Uncanny X-Men #173 I thought that seeing
Storm come out of her snotty phase was the coolest thing, plus how
could you go wrong in the early 80's with skin tight black leather.
It worked for Pat Benatar. Favorite Storyline: Strange Tales
155-168 Steranko writing, drawing, inking and coloring his own
stuff was extraordinary at that time. Nick Fury became the character
we see today and is still relevant.
